Par Gents Golf Club started in South Phoenix, AZ with 8 players on September 16, 1955 at the American Legion Post 41 and at the old Thunderbird Golf Course. Our membership is primarily male, but we do have women members as well, and some of them are wives of our male members. We welcome women to play in our tournaments and also welcome them to join our Club.
We are a traveling club, so we do not have a home course, therefore, we are free to play a different course every month and are not restricted to one course.
We welcome players that are just starting to play the game of golf
as well as experienced players.
In 2011 we had 108 members and have had in past years as many as 220 members.
We continually acquire new In members at our monthly tournaments. Guest are invited to play in our tournaments and can contact us through one of our members they may be acquainted with or contact one of our Club Officers. You can also send an email from our contact page and we will respond as quickly as possible.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR GUESTS:
We invite guests to play in all of our tournaments, however, Par Gents Golf Club has a Constitution By-Law that states:
After guests have played in two (2) tournaments as a guest and they want to
continue to play with the Par Gents, they have to join the Par Gents Golf Club.
PREVIOUS PAR GENTS GOLF CLUB MEMBERS:
If previous members want to play in our Club's Tournaments,
" THEY MUST " rejoin the club before they will be allowed to participate.
This is also in accordance with Par Gents Golf Club's Constitution By-Laws.
We also have a "Hotline": The phone number is: 602-230-4164, where you can call and leave a message and your phone number, inquire about playing at a monthly tournament or get information about Par Gents Golf Club. The Secretary / Treasurer monitors the Hotline and will return your call and answer any questions you may have.
Par Gents is a non-profit organization. One tournament a year is a benefit for a designated charity selected by the Executive Committee. Funds raised at our annual benefit golf tournament are used to provide assistance to needy families and food banks. In addition, throughout the year the Club provides financial assistance to The Sam Garcia, Sr. Memorial Fund, this Fund benefits East and West Hispanic College Funds. We also provide assistance to Angelita's Amigos, a fund raising group through the American Cancer Society. We also promote Junior Golf and support the Valle Del Sol Junior Golf Program.
